In our classes we review general types of hauntings. For the next few months we are going to explore different types of hauntings with some research and works from our archives or by others in the paranormal universe.
Here are some notes and excerpts from David Weatherly in his interview with George Noory (linked below).
- Solid black eyes
- Pale or pasty (artificial skin)
- Age range between 8 and 12
- Monotone speaking
- Direct questions are not answered or redirected
- Unusual requests that involve wanting to be invited into home or car
- Odd or out of place attire and lacking knowledge of everyday items (how to use a phone or a doorbell)
- Heads looking down on initial contact
- Eerie feeling that something is not right
- When rejected, they disappear
The need to be invited does allude to the vampire legends (as referenced by Harold in his video also linked below). David Weatherly also notes that this also seems to be in line with potential demonic activity where the human needs to allow the entry or give permission.
What do they want? What is their purpose?
David believes that they are interdimensional and they take on the form of children to prey upon our natural tendencies to help (as Harold also mentions to below). No one really knows what their ultimate goal may be. There is speculation that like many people that disappear without a trace, we do not know if these entities have done to anyone that they may have ensnared and are not able to tell anyone what has happened.
On George Noory’s Coast 2 Coast AM related show, Beyond Belief – David Weatherly who is the author of the most popular book on the subject is the guest talking about the BEK phenomenon.
From the archives of TOGHs, Harold and Becky had hosted a discussion on Black Eyed Children (or Kids) back in 2022. This video is posted on our YouTube channel and linked below. The discussion on the BEK starts at the 14:13 mark.
Here is a well done post about Brian Bethel’s original experience that spawned this phenomenon in the modern era.
