TOGHS stopped by the reported Haunted Hope Furnace on the way to the Moonville Tunnel. The Hope Furnace is located just down the road from Lake Hope State Park outside of McArthur, Ohio. It’s located off State Route 278.
The Hope Furnace was founded in 1854 and it remained in operation until 1875. It produced some of the best iron in the world. The iron made at these furnaces was used to make weaponry for the Civil War. The Hope Furnaces operated 24 hours a day and could produce up to fifteen tons of cast iron each day. However, shortly after the end of the Civil War the furnaces were no longer used.

TOGHS visited Athens again on Friday August 7, 2009 while on our road trip to Point Pleasant, W. Virginia. Jeff, Butch and I stopped to visit Sarah Thomas and see what changes if any were made to the Asylum cemetery and the Tuberculosis Ward. We noticed that the cemetery has had some improvements made. There is now a stairway down to the lower level of the cemetery where Sarah is buried. It also looks like some headstones have been replaced in a row along the lower level. The Tuberculosis ward has also been updated in regards to security, The old steel doors have been welded shut in order to help keep the living out. After visiting the Ridges we stopped by the Old State street cemetery before continuing our journey to Point Pleasant. I’ve added some new pictures of this legendary Haunted town.
Haunted cabin in the hills of Glouster, Ohio August 7, 2009. This cabin is actually an old small three-room home that is now over a hundred years old. It is set up in the hills of Glouster, Ohio and backed up against the forest. It is own by the Family of TOGHS team member Mike Stiger. It has electricity but no running water. TOGHS team member Mike Stiger’s family bought the property and worked for the local mining company and built the home themselves. Twelve people including 10 children were raised in the home that has now sat empty for the past thirty plus years. Although family members visit the home from time to time, nobody lives in the home any longer. Family members have reported strange noises, footsteps walking through the kitchen and out the back door. On one occasion the Grandfather was seen walking the property and on another the Aunt was seen waving goodbye from a window. This would not have seemed so strange if both family members were still living.
TOGHS was told about this Haunted location by a mutual friend of ours this past July. As our client Dominic told of the hauntings and the history of the building. I became more and more intrigued. By the time we finished our brief conversation, I had already decided TOGHS would want to take this case. We scheduled a walk through of the building with Dominic for later that week in late July. TOGHS team members Marie, Mike, Joe and I arrived at the building in the early evening for our scheduled walk through and interview with Dominic. The Feltman Building stands six stories tall, over 100 years old and has housed hundreds of tenants over this period of time, It was originally one of the first banks in downtown Toledo and still has the old vault rooms in place. The top floors are being renovated and will be rented out as condominiums some time soon. The first floor is rented out to local rock bands that practice their musical skills and hold jam sessions. Dominic introduced us to other band members and gave us a chance to interview them as well. We were told that the huge cellar was the part of the old building that most of the hauntings were occurring.
TOGHS has been waiting excitingly to get together again for this follow up investigation. During our first investigation we captured one of the best EVP’s from the Attic that we ever recorded. This time was no different. Butch, Dan, Marie, Brian, Joe, Junior Investigator Jake and I arrived at the residence at 7:30PM on July 1, 2009. We also implemented the owner of the home in this investigation. We set up our equipment covering four floors including cellar and the legendary haunted attic.

From Archbold in Fulton County, go north on State Rte 66 for 1-1/2 miles to Township Rd F, go west for 3 miles to the junction with Township Rd 26, go south about 1/4 mile to the preserve parking lot located on the east side of the road.
This was one of the hardest and longest Investigations that TOGHS has encountered. We did several separate investigations over the course of four months. We are not revealing the real names or address of our client to protect their privacy. In February 2009, TOGHS received a phone call from a gentleman named Tom who owns a residence on Dorr Street. He told us he did not live there himself but was renting the home to a family of six. Tom wanted information about Hauntings and Poltergeist. He told us that his tenants were reporting both types of activity in the home. After ending our hour-long conversation, TOGHS contacted the tenants and interviewed the Grandmother (Beth) in regards to the reported paranormal activity.
After investigating Cedar Hill Cemetery Butch visited the Newark Earth Works, This is an ancient Native American Holy Site build by the Adena Indians. Although legend has it that Orb’s have been seen and photographed. Butch did not capture anything paranormal in his photographs. He did however have an overwhelming sense of peace come over him while visiting this holy land.
Butch was making a trip to Newark, Ohio over the last weekend in February 2009. While in Newark he investigated the infamous Cedar Hill Cemetery and The Newark Earth Works. While investigating both legendary locations he took several photographs. Cedar Hill Cemetery is located on the west side of OH-79, about a ½ mile north of the intersection with OH-16, in Newark, Ohio (Newark Township, Licking County). This Cemetery is very large.
Butch heard about this haunted location through a friend of his named Alan. After discussing the alleged haunting at this home TOGHS decided to do this Investigation. Alan was interested in helping us from time to time and Butch decided this would be the perfect investigation to get Alan started working with us and getting involved with our paranormal investigations. Joe St John who is a TOGHS part time Investigator was also working with us on this case. As the four of us drove to the residence we discussed the case and the alleged haunting.
Butch, Dave and I investigated Woodlawn Cemetery in the Summer of 2008 as we had heard of the legendary haunting connected to Woodlawn. Civil War soldiers are buried in sections 28 and 41 of the cemetery and the cemetery has been listed as a National Historic site since 1998. It was a beautiful day, Sunny, Light winds and the temperature was in the low 80’s. I was taken aback by the big monument that you can see from a great distance. We investigated several sections throughout the cemetery including the grave site of a young girl that was murdered in the late 70’s.
My weekend at

Ravine Park Cemetery can be found on Ravine Road in Sylvania, Ohio. Ravine Cemetery is the final resting place to eighty-one Civil War Veterans.
